Your Dining Reservations
Once you set a date for your trip to Walt Disney World Resort, that's the best time to reserve your resort hotel room.
The next priority is planning your dining reservations. During slower seasons such as from the beginning of January to early February and from mid-September to mid-November, you may not have any problems getting the reservations you want. However, the sooner you make all your dining reservations the better, and the less likely you will be disappointed especially if you want to dine where the Disney characters come around to your table to greet you and have a picture taken with you and members of your family. My best advice is to make your character dining reservations first; then you can make any other dining reservations soon after.
There are currently 62 restaurants throughout the parks and resort hotels. The meals are served in 3 different ways:
Buffet: You can choose from a variety of foods at breakfast, lunch or dinner time.
Family Style: A server will bring food to your table served in bowls, plates and skillets. You serve yourself and pass the bowls, plates and skillets around the table.
Pre-plated Meals: Meals are served to each guest and each plate includes the same meal.
Most restaurants provide you with 'all you can eat' at a fixed price. You can ask your server for second servings at family style and pre-plated dining.
To make your dining reservations, call (407) 939-3463 or go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/ or call your travel agent.

Walt Disney World Resort Name the Best Theme Park
Here is an article I recently came across an article published by Flightline based in the United Kingdom about Walt Disney World Resort being the best theme park. Here is an excerpt from that article:
"Travellers thinking of heading off to Florida this year for a visit to the region’s theme parks and attractions might be interested to hear that Walt Disney World has been voted the world’s best theme park.
The result was announced at the Globe Travel Awards 2012, organized by the travel industry publication Travel Weekly. The awards are unique as the winners are decided by votes solely from within the travel industry, giving Walt Disney World in Florida a truly impressive thumbs-up from those in the business!"

Planning Your First Trip to Walt Disney World Resort
If you have never been to Walt Disney World Resort before, planning a Disney World vacation is hard work especially if you have never been before. Planning your vacation can be a lot of fun and that's where the excitement begins. There are so many books and websites out there devoted to planning a Disney Vacation you may find all this available information very overwhelming.
Here are a few tips that will help you plan your first trip:
Watch for special Disney resort vacation offers. Walt Disney World Resort gives discounts at different times throughout the year so that you get the best pricing for your resort hotel and dining.
Use a travel consultant to help you plan your trip including deciding on which resort hotel you want to reservations for your stay, answer questions about dining, park hopper tickets and shopping. Your travel consultant will help you create and develop your itinerary so that you will have enough time to see everything you want to see in the parks, enjoy other activities like boating, horseback riding, golf, and shopping.
Use a travel agent to help you reservations. You can contact a Disney Travel Agent or go to your local travel agent. They will advise you of the best pricing for your hotel and air fare, especially when the more economical value seasons are to go to Walt Disney World resort. A travel agent can make recommendations for your dining and assist you with any other special needs such as wheelchair accessibility.
Create an itinerary in order to keep track of your dining reservations and to ensure you get to enjoy all the attractions you want to see. Include information about 'Extra Magic Hours' when parks open early or are open late, fireworks, and parade schedules.
Decide when you want to go to Walt Disney World Resort. If your vacation time is flexible, going to Walt Disney World Resort during their value seasons are the best times to visit when hotel prices are more economical, crowds are less intense and line-ups to popular attractions are much shorter and faster.
Make your resort hotel and dining reservations as soon as you set a date for your trip. Restaurants are booked up quickly so your dining reservations, especially character dining should be at least 180 days in advance of your trip to ensure you won't be disappointed.
Purchase a park hopper ticket. If you want to visit the water parks there is a park hopper ticket with water parks. These tickets are available to tourists who stay at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Plan to spend at least 1 day at each of the parks to ensure you have enough time to visit all the attractions you want to see.
Reserve a seat on Disney's Magical Express for your trip to Walt Disney World from the airport when you arrive and back to the airport when you go home. This saves you time and the hassle of trying to find your way around yourself. Book Magical Express transportation when you make your hotel reservations.
When packing for your trip, put a T-shirt, and shorts in your carry-on bag so that you can change into more comfortable clothing when you get to your resort hotel. Even if your trip includes pre-arranged delivery of your luggage to your hotel room when you take Magical Express, your luggage may not arrive in your room until later.
Take comfortable shoes such as running shoes or athletic sandals to avoid getting sore blistered feet. You will be walking in the parks most of the time and even though flips flops might be alright if you wear running shoes or athletic sandals your feet won't hurt as much.
